LT Brian W. Robinson, USCGR
LT
Brian Robinson received a direct commission in the United States Coast
Guard Reserve in February 2004 through the Direct Commission Lawyer
program. LT Robinson
graduated from the Direct Commission Officer course at the United States
Coast Guard Academy in April 2004 and served as class leader of DCO
Class 2-04. Following DCO
school, LT Robinson enjoyed operational training at the Cape Cod Air
Station and aboard the USCGC Resolute, a 210’ Medium Endurance Cutter.
LT Robinson is a 1987 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in
Worcester, Massachusetts where he earned an A.B.
in political science. LT
Robinson graduated cum laude
from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1990.
LT Robinson was associated with Hale and Dorr in Boston from 1990
through 1994. LT Robinson
continued his practice in the trial department of the Boston office of
McDermott, Will & Emery where he was elected to partnership in the
firm. His private practice
focused on complex commercial litigation including intellectual property
matters and ERISA litigation. LT
Robinson recently received the Founders Award from Alternatives for
Community and Environment in recognition of his pro
bono work on behalf of over 100 families in Boston.

Robinson is currently stationed at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in the
Office of Claims and Litigation.
LT Robinson is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the U.S. District
Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for
the First Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and
the United States Supreme Court.
LT Robinson is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoys playing, collecting
and restoring vintage guitars. He
lives in Manassas, Virginia with his wife, Libby, and children Mimi (age
8) and Seamus (age 6). The
Robinsons hail from Newburyport, Massachusetts - - the birthplace of the
Coast Guard.
