History of JAA

During more than sixty years of existence, the membership of JAA has broadened and is now composed of active duty, reserve, guard, and retired Judge Advocates from all of the services as well as private practitioners, law school students, law school professors, and members of the general public.

The Judge Advocates Association is the only national professional legal organization exclusively dedicated to Judge Advocates.

The Judge Advocates Association is an affiliate of the American Bar Association (ABA), has a vote in the ABA House of Delegates, and ensures the continued vitality of the link between the ABA and the Judge Advocates Association to foster discussion of issues of common interest.
