The JAA & JAF Awards dinner is normally held the evening of the first day of the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces' annual Judicial Conference, in May. A number of awards are presented, including the Chief Justice Marshall Lifetime Achievement Award, the Robertson O. Everett Distinguished Life Service Award, and Outstanding Career Armed Service Attorney awards for each of the military services. For additional information, see the Awards Page. This year's dinner was held on May 16, 2007 at the Army Navy County Club. Check back in February for additional details and online reservations.

The Judge Advocates Association hosts, or co-hosts, a number of social
activities throughout the year, most notably the annual DoD Legal
Leadership Reception and the annual Judge Advocates Association and Judge
Advocates Foundation Awards Dinner. The DoD Legal Leadership
Reception is co-hosted with the Pentagon Chapter and the Federal Career
Service Division of the Federal Bar Association. The reception is
held in late Fall in the Executive Dining Room of the Pentagon. The
reception honors the legal leadership of the Department of Defense and the
Department of Homeland Security. The reception is open to everyone with
an interest in military law. This year's reception was held on
December 7, 2006.
