General Joseph L. Votel Addresses the 2026 JAA/JAF Awards Dinner
We were honored to welcome General Joseph L. Votel, U.S. Army (Retired) — former Commander of U.S. Central Command — as our guest speaker at this year's Judge Advocates Association and Judge Advocates Foundation Awards Dinner.
Drawing on 39 years in uniform and a career spent leading our nation's most sensitive operations, General Votel spoke to the heart of our profession: that competent, independent legal advice and disciplined adherence to the law of armed conflict are not constraints on military power — they are critical ingredients of its success.
